Hi, I’m Liz! I’m currently a counseling intern completing my Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. My path to counseling began long before graduate school. For 14 years, I worked as a special education teacher, where I had the privilege of supporting students and their families through both challenges and celebrations. Those years taught me that every person has a unique story and deserves to feel valued and understood. Also, they showed me the incredible resilience people can have when they feel supported, which inspired me to pursue a career in mental health counseling.

I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, identity, and all the many ups and downs that come with being human. I’m especially drawn to supporting individuals with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to be authentically yourself and know that you’ll be met with compassion, respect, and acceptance.

I believe that counseling is a partnership. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy, and encouragement as we explore what matters most to you. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, work through life’s challenges, and celebrate the progress you make along the way. I don’t expect you to have all the answers when you come to counseling; in fact, that’s what we’re here to discover together.

Outside of counseling, I am an auntie who loves spending time with my family, including my 27 nieces and nephews, along with my husband and our dog, Bailey. Being an auntie has given me plenty of opportunities to laugh, learn, be present, and appreciate all the different personalities and perspectives that make a person unique. I believe those everyday moments of connection are important, especially when life feels busy or overwhelming.

It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you discover your strengths, embrace your resilience, and create a life that feels meaningful to you. I look forward to meeting you.
